Aren't you supposed to put a question mark in front of questions only? Or do suggestions and maybe's and confused statements count, too? I see it happen all the time. For example:
"I wonder what's in this box?" or:
Guy 1: "I can't seem to find my phone."
Guy 2: "Maybe it's on the couch?"
And even when people are just confused. Like "I see this happening all the time?".
So shouldn't those sentences be ended with a period instead of a question mark? Since they're statements and not questions? Or am I wrong on this one?
edit: So whenever somebody puts a question mark at the end of a sentence, it's a question, right? So when a guy says "I wonder why my penis is so hard" he's asking whether or not he wonders why his penis is hard, right?
